A message from John.
I would like to thank you for coming to my website. This is a historic time for the city of Springfield. For the fist time in almost fifty years, every section of our city will be represented. With ward representation in place, councilors will be able to be held more accountable for their actions. I'm running for the Ward 8 seat which represents Indian Orchard, Pine Point, and the Boston Road Corridor.
I am a home owner in the Pine Point neighborhood. I am a married father of four. My children are in our school system, at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
I want to represent Springfield; this is the city I was born in and I am raising my family here. Springfield is far from perfect, but it is a good city with great neighborhoods. Springfield is loaded with history; every weekend I find plenty of things to do in the city with my family. There isn’t another city I could think of living in over Springfield.
But with the lack of leadership Springfield has had over the past few decades and the current economic conditions, we have lost many businesses. We need vision and leadership, and I intend to bring that to the table. I will work feverishly to offer tax incentives and lower the commercial tax rate to attract companies into our city. Also I will encourage small businesses to open in our city. I will work on streamlining the licensing procedures and the bureaucratic red tape that cause small business to lose money while waiting for the city to do its job.
Please take the time to look at my issues page, and please vote for me on Tuesday, September 15th.
Thank You,
John A. Lysak
